Liaison Services

Research Services

Our liaison librarians are available for appointments to discuss in-depth research questions with faculty, students and staff. They can assist by suggesting the most relevant subject-specific resources, teaching users how to navigate research databases, determine the best search strategy for a given research topic, and more.

Information Literacy Instruction

Our liaison librarians provide classroom instruction on research methods to Holy Names students within their disciplines. Instructors interested in subject-specific workshops for their courses are encouraged to contact their departmental liaison. Classes must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance, and are scheduled on a "first come, first served" basis. We have a limited number of slots available per term.

Growing our Collection

Faculty are encouraged to recommend purchases for the library's collection via this form. In addition to faculty requests, liaison librarians may suggest new print materials and electronic resources for the library to purchase.

Research Guides

Our liaison librarians develop and update research guides within their disciplines. Faculty members can suggest additional resources or other ways to improve the research guides their students use to connect with information resources. You can find a complete list of our research guides here.

Liaison Librarian Program

Our liaison librarians serve the faculty, students and staff of Holy Names University through subject-specific research help, information literacy instruction, and assistance acquiring materials. Think of us as your partners in the pursuit of pedagogical excellence.
